Switching e-mail addresses is sometimes very frustrating. Everyone has your current e-mail address in their address books. You'll send out a warning message telling people that you are going to make a change. When you switch your e-mail address, you typically lose messages because nobody paid attention to your message, and they still send e-mail to your old address. For example, if you were on AOL and switched to our service, your address would change from someone@aol.com to someone@servicemail.net. Mail that is sent to your old address is returned to the sender as undeliverable. This causes big headaches for both the sender and the recipient. All e-mail providers have the ability to forward your e-mail to your new address, but most will not do this because they are upset that you are leaving their service. (Excalibur DOES provide this service for any customer who might decide to leave.)
How do you eliminate this problem? Simple! Register your own domain name! If you register your own domain name (www.yourcompanyname.com), you can move your e-mail to any server in the world! This eliminates any missed e-mails if you switch service providers because your e-mail address is always yourname@yourcompany.com no matter which ISP you decide to use.
To register your own domain name, go to a registration service such as www.register.com and sign up! It will cost you about $75 for two years. Names are going quickly, so sign up today. Even if you will not use the name for another several months, it is best to reserve today and hold the name for later use.
Once you have the name registered, call Excalibur Technology or another ISP and we will finish up the registration! You will be able to setup mailboxes and begin receiving e-mail within two to three days.
Good luck and happy e-mailing!
